InfoSol Announces Dynamic Distributed Dashboards
|
Imagine taking an interactive Xcelsius dashboard and automatically scheduling and distributing it to a network share, a web site, or by e-mail as an attachment or even embedded in the text of the e-mail itself. Further, imagine having the choice to view this distributed dashboard locally with the captured data at the time of refresh or connecting to Xcelsius Workgroup live and having the data refreshed dynamically.
Imagine no longer, because all of this and more is now a reality with InfoBurst 2.5. By combining the amazing dynamic dashboard capabilities of Crystal Xcelsius for Workgroup with the powerful and innovative distribution and publishing capabilities of InfoBurst, InfoSol has created the ultimate solution for delivering effective data visualization solutions to everyone. The new distributed dashboard solution was demonstrated in the keynote address at the start of IBIS 2006 in Palm Springs, California, and received an overwhelming positive response.
"Visualization of data through the amazing capabilities of Xcelsius, combined with distributing and publishing them with both dynamic and live connectivity options is the next generation of Business Intelligence," commented Paul Grill, President and CEO of InfoSol. "This solution can be used by everyone. It does not matter if you are using BusinessObjects, Crystal, Cognos or Microsoft BI products, the Xcelsius/InfoBurst distributed dashboard solution can fit right in."
InfoSol is offering free web casts of the new distributed dashboard solution. To schedule a demonstration, e-mail infosol@infosol.com. |
|

Crystal Xcelsius Workgroup dashboards may be
distributed to network servers or via e-mail and
viewed with data at time of initial refresh or
can be connected live to the Workgroup
application and refreshed dynamically. |

Dashboards may be embedded in commodity products
like PPT, Word or PDF and distributed through InfoBurst.

IBIS 2006 Educates and Excites Enthusiastic Attendees
|
The combination of five hands-on BusinessObjects certified training tracks and three information packed seminars proved to be a winning formula at this year's InfoSol Business Intelligence Seminar (IBIS). Attendees from as far away as Switzerland and Australia left the Palm Springs venue of IBIS 2006 both excited and informed from three days of concentrated education. There were plenty of opportunities for the 120 attendees to interact and exchange information at meals, breaks, and evening social events in between the training. Platinum sponsor, Business Objects, jointly hosted the Monday night event and showcased Crystal Xcelsius.
Other highlights included the new BusinessObjects Best Practices track, which was very well attended and the customer XI R2 Migration Case Studies presented by Honeywell and J.F. Shea.
The latest BusinessObjects XI R2 education offerings were also discussed, along with new XI R2 add-on solutions for version management, report publishing, and distributing dashboards.
The Best Part about IBIS was...
"Roundtable discussions were very informative. The open forum was very conducive to networking with other BusinessObjects customers/users. The InfoSol team did a wonderful job!!" - Deborah DeCorrevont / Choice Hotels
"The constant availability of instructors during outside-of-the-classroom time (breaks, evening events), to go deeper on classroom topics or discuss topics not covered." - Rick Rogers / Ball Aerospace
"...the size. The ratio of instructors to attendees was small enough so that it was very easy to meet and talk with the instructors outside of the session." - Ted Manier / University of Notre Dame

"Having people that have experience doing an actual upgrade to XI. Interacting with other BusinessObjects customers. Meeting and getting to know InfoSol employees." - Kayla Battistelli / Ball Aerospace
"The interactions of different organizations - the give and take of ideas - the tapping into someone else's real life experience with the products."
"InfoSol focuses on the client and helping us learn to use BusinessObjects in better and more powerful ways." - Joseph Gow / Huron Consulting Group

Ask the Expert - Your Business Intelligence Questions Answered
|
QUESTION:
How do I add a second block to a drillable report for slicing in full client?
ANSWER:
In version 6, Business Objects introduced options for synchronized drilling across multiple blocks in Web Intelligence documents. This allows a drill down and slicing effect from drilling on one block to effect another block in the same report.
In the full client tool, however, we are forced to choose to drill on one block at a time. This tip reveals how you can, at least, set up a drillable report to appear with multiple blocks, allowing you to slice across the data for all blocks in the report.
As mentioned previously, when multiple blocks exist on a report, entering drilling mode requires first choosing one of the blocks on which to drill. To drill on multiple blocks, the second block must be created after entering drill mode. But before we create the second block, we will first drill on something to open the drill toolbar.
