Ask the Expert - Your Business Intelligence Questions Answered
|
QUESTION:
The full client BusinessObjects tool contains a LastDayOfMonth() function to return the last day,
but this is not available in WebIntelligence as of WebIntelligence v6.1b. How can I return the last day of the month?
ANSWER:
You can use the relativedate() function. For instance, to return the last day of the previous month from today:
=RelativeDate(CurrentDate() ,-DayNumberOfMonth(CurrentDate()))
To return the first day of the current month, just add one
=RelativeDate(CurrentDate() ,1-DayNumberOfMonth(CurrentDate()))
To return the last day of the current month (for Webi), first create a variable for the date one month from today.
Plus Month
=ToDate((MonthNumberOfYear(CurrentDate())+1)+"/"+DayNumberOfMonth(CurrentDate())+"/"
+Year(CurrentDate()),"m/d/yyyy")
Then create the relative date to return the last day of the month:
=RelativeDate(<Plus Month>,-DayNumberOfMonth(<Plus Month>))
