InfoSol celebrated its 10th annual conference with a hugely
successful Business Intelligence extravaganza. IBIS 2008 was bigger, had higher
attendance, and received high praise from attendees who experienced two and
one-half days of learning, sharing, and envisioning Business Intelligence and
how they can get the most out of it. In addition, some attendees got a jump
start on training with pre-seminar one-day courses in Xcelsius, Universe
Design, and Web Intelligence.
Paul Grill’s opening remarks on Monday set the stage for the conference, and,
as President of InfoSol, Paul recognized three companies for their efforts with
awards in the following categories:
• Innovative Dashboard - awarded to NCAA for their University Presidents
Athletics Financial Dashboard
• Best Business Dashboard - awarded to Sony Electronics for their Executive
Overview Dashboard
• Most
Valuable Dashboard - awarded to Banner Health for their Glucose Project
Dashboard
Paul took the opportunity to announce InfoSol’s
GreenServices, focused on delivering services using remote technology
to reduce environmental impact when compared with traditional on-site service
delivery. And, as a special incentive, GreenServices include special pricing,
along with a program to give back to the environment through planting trees.
This year, IBIS offered two executive tracks that focused on the many decisions
that affect BI solutions, plus seminar tracks on InfoBurst and BOE
administration. Four hands-on tracks completed the program, providing more
in-depth training on Xcelsius dashboards, Crystal Reports 2008, Web
Intelligence XI 3.0, and Edge Series.
Many attendees were anxious to hear customer case studies, presented by Banner
Health, NCAA, and Meritage Homes. Each of the case studies highlighted how
Business Intelligence is deployed at the named site, and brought home the human
element in each of the implementations.
Business Objects and InfoSol hosted two Showcase Receptions in the exhibit
area, where attendees were treated to good food, good conversation, and
demonstrations of new BI products and technologies.
If you weren’t among the attendees at IBIS 2008, we’re sorry you missed the
event. But, then, there’s always 2009!
