Your Business Intelligence Questions Answered

BusinessObjects Q&A
QUESTION:
I have a requirement to build a report using two rankings. I can’t
figure out how to do it using the ranking feature of Business Objects. I need
to see the top 5 States ranked by revenue and the top 5 products ranked by
revenue. Each needs to be ranked by their overall revenue, not the
revenue for that product in that state. Is this possible?
ANSWER:
Although this cannot be
accomplished using the ranking feature, there is a way to accomplish this by
creating a ranking formula. I’ve created a base report pulling State,
Product Name and Revenue.

Crystal Reports Q&A
QUESTION:
How do you create a chart that has
both a Bar chart and a Line chart together in one?
ANSWER:
The easiest way to accomplish this in Crystal Reports is to start with
a Bar chart. If you want to incorporate all of the data in your report, I
suggest placing the chart in the Report Header or Report Footer. In this Tech
Tip, I’ll assume you have the data you want in the report.
