Ask the Expert - Your Business Intelligence Questions Answered

Xcelsius Q&A

QUESTION:
Multiple-tabbed Dashboards, with many formulas and components, take a long time to load into a web browser. To lessen the initial load time, we elected to create separate html/swfs for each tab and link them by URL. Some users want an easy way to open all the html/swfs at once. How can we set this up?

ANSWER:
For instances when the user wants to load all tabs at once, you can use the Tab Group feature in Internet Explorer favorites.

Crystal Reports Q&A

QUESTION:
I am using Crystal Reports 2008, and I am not sure what the parameter options “Editable,” “Read only,” and “Do not show” mean. I applied all the options, but it does not change my report in any way. Why is this?

ANSWER:
This remarkable feature is new to Crystal Reports 2008. This option enables you to change the prompt without refreshing the report.
