What happens when an acquired business or a department of a larger organization is subject to operational changes, often introduced by their parent organizations. These changes can be painful and uncoordinated at times, yet, the imperative is to deliver better actionable information than before, and quickly too. The case study presented describes a real-world scenario of information delivery which lacked impact and the challenges involved in developing a new solution as the existing solution was “unplugged” six months earlier than planned.
A mix of both “pixel perfect” reporting, delivered by Crystal Reports Server, and explorable data delivered by Tableau, were providing management with information. Unfortunately, the delivery of that information was often too late to support corrective actions by management. This session will walk through important topics such as negotiating conflicting objectives, managing expectations, building a data model from incomplete information, achieving near real-time information delivery, and reconciling conflicting reporting results. There is sure to be one or more takeaways to help you deliver your next data-driven decision support project.
