1:00 – 2:00 pm   Write Back Dashboards

InfoSol:  Paul Grill

While Business Intelligence tools are traditionally read only,  the amazing popularity and versatility of Xcelsius dashboards has led to some interesting applications where the dashboard is also used for data capture and input purposes.

This session will demonstrate several real world case studies of companies that have developed and are using Xcelsius dashboards to capture information and write it back to databases. These include a manufacturing company that developed a data input dashboard for entering end of shift information , a hospital that uses a dashboard for entering and monitoring patient admissions, an education insurance company that saves unique user scenarios created in their BI dashboard that are restored for the user when they log in again.  Other recent Xcelsius dashboard write back solutions currently in development will also be shown including a software sales dashboard to be used by inside sales teams that automatically generates quotes and send the quote as a dashboard to the customer while still on the phone with the salesperson and also a mobile dashboard that can write back to a CRM application in the cloud.

The possibilities for write back applications with Xcelsius create a whole new paradigm for business intelligence solutions.

3:15- 4:00 pm   2012 BI Mobile Landscape – What’s Real?

InfoSol: Paul Grill

As the landscape for mobile business intelligence solutions for SAP BusinessObjects users’ changes rapidly more companies are moving from the “toe in the water” stage to actually “paddling in the water with both feet”!

It is hard to believe the iPad has only been around for 2 years and it was only a year ago that Xcelsius dashboards were being shown on iPads and iPhones for the first time. There are many choices of solutions – some leverage existing investments in BusinessObjects infrastructure and development while others require completely new design and development. Some use streaming technology and render content on the mobile device without changes and some are developed natively for the mobile device taking full advantage of the device technology and integrating seamlessly with other native mobile applications.

This session delivered 100% from an iPad cuts through the marketing hype and shows the different mobile BI solution choices that are real and work with SAP BusinessObjects in action so you can compare them side by side.
