Announced on July 25, 2017, Adobe set the end-of-life date of Flash Player (formerly Macromedia Flash). Adobe stopped supporting Flash Player beginning December 31, 2020. Developers, designers, and businesses were given fair warning to adapt and or migrate Flash content to the new upcoming standards.
Businesses and organizations were already slowly moving away from Flash because the technology had not adapted to non-PC devices. Viable open standard alternatives such as HTML5, WebGL/Web Assembly were continually improving over time and eclipsing the Flash player infrastructure.
Subsequently, SAP stopped supporting (end-of-life or EOL) two of their business intelligence products, SAP BusinessObjects Explorer and Xcelsius. These innovative dashboarding software, based on Adobe Flash, have been used by numerous users worldwide to improve performance in businesses across different industries all over the world.
Professionals and teams may still be struggling to adapt to the end of life of SAP BusinessObjects Explorer and Xcelsius. There are a few options to consider in any software end of life situation:
Stay The Course
Organizations that choose this path may initially be unaffected as the software may continue to perform without incident in the short term. However, over time, without software support, security, compliance, compatibility, and performance problems may occur.

Unfortunately, there is no formal option to upgrade Xcelsius (SAP Dashboards).
Identify New Software
Migrating and updating to an alternative platform can be costly with respect to software cost, re-training, and data migration.
