While Business Intelligence tools are traditionally read only, the amazing popularity and versatility of Xcelsius dashboards has led to some interesting applications where the dashboard is also used for data capture and input purposes.
The InfoBurst solution contains multiple plug-in connectors for the Xcelsius Designer tool including a Write Back connector. Using this write back connector, you can capture and write back information from your Xcelsius dashboard to any ODBC connected database.

Many companies are using this feature today including a manufacturing company that developed a data input dashboard for entering end of shift information , a hospital that uses a dashboard for entering and monitoring patient admissions, an education insurance company that saves unique user scenarios created in their BI dashboard that are restored for the user when they log in again.
The possibilities for write back applications with Xcelsius and InfoBurst create a whole new paradigm for business intelligence solutions.

Hello, we are searching a solution to write-back information from Dashboard Design 4.0. The project is to put some trace into some critical dashboard to minotor performance. The audit database is not enough, we like to have some metric when navigating into dashboard. Write-back seem to be nice to write some trace log at some strategic point into some dashboard.
Hi Patrick,
Your project sounds very interesting. If possible, I would like to hear more specifics. We can take this off-line if you would like. Feel free to email me at ckruger@infosol.com.
We have a large number of clients that use the write back for various reasons. I do like what you are looking at doing as it is very interesting and very valuable. I would like to say it is possible, but I would like to validate that if possible. To do this, I would like to be more comfortable with the data that is going to be used for the trace and also the metric you are looking to measure.
Feel free to provide more specific information either through a comment, or to me directly.
Thank you,
Chris
