The engagement of the business user is critical to both the success and user adoption of any BI solution. In the case studies covered, the users play critical roles in the idea, the design and the result and will show the importance of best practices in making the user experience the number one priority. The examples will range from an analysis of hospital patient flow to saving the world’s remaining tiger population and all used SAP BusinessObjects tools to either prototype, develop or both.

Wednesday August 9th:

10:15am – 10: 35am: Joining Forces – BusinessObjects and Tableau Integration with Allan Williams

Many long-term customers of BusinessObjects are choosing Tableau as their data visualization platform. Wouldn’t it be great if you could leverage all of your BusinessObjects Universes and expertise in conjunction with Tableau? Well, you can – and this course will provide students with an understanding of the features and capabilities of Tableau and how it can be leveraged in a BusinessObjects shop. This one day hands on boot camp will provide students, through hands on training, with fundamental knowledge on core Tableau functionality, including using Webi Reports as a Tableau data source via InfoBurst.

1:30pm- 1:50pm: Safeway’s Crystal Reporting with InfoBurst- A Customer Case Study with Rajesh Ponnurangam

SAP Dashboards has been around for a while now and we’ve all been told countless times what it can and can’t do. As a result, new dashboard tools have been developed that claim to be more powerful, dynamic, and will replace it. However, Xcelsius is still a powerful and robust tool that can still save the day when it comes to delivering real BI solutions. In this presentation, Noe Garcia will discuss how USPI continues to rely on Xcelsius to deliver robust visual tools. With a little help from its sidekick InfoBurst and it’s utility belt loaded with great apps and tools, Xcelsius continues to be USPI’s silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight!
