The Life Sciences dashboard was designed for a hypothetical Pharmaceutical company. This company has U.S. sales in four distinct regions: North, East, South, and West. Each region sells into four channels or sales lines: Pain Management, Endocrinology, Oncology, and Cardiology. Each channel, in turn includes four pharmaceuticals. There is a monthly Sales plan and projection for each pharmaceutical that rolls up through channel and region to a consolidated sales view for the organization.
When launched, the Variance tab shows a consolidated perspective with the canvas divided into four quadrants: Map, Sales Pie Chart, Quarterly Sales and Sales Projection vs Plan. The map is currently all white to signify the consolidated company perspective. The pie chart can be toggled between Sales by Region and Sales by Channel by clicking the button. Hovering over a slice of the pie provides the underlying data. Other interactive features include the Quarterly Sales quadrant which allows you to switch to the relevant quarter, as well as the Sales Projection vs. Plan which can be viewed as a spreadsheet or chart by clicking the button. The map lets you select individual regions which updates the other data on the dashboard accordingly.
The Quarterly Sales by Drug quadrant shows quarterly variance data for the drugs in each channel. This can be changed by clicking on the respective name tab. The four drugs associated with the selected channel are represented by a unique graphic. Hovering over the individual drug graphics displays relevant data and updates the combination chart below to show the quarterly variance data for that drug.
The dashboard includes a what-if scenario analysis feature which allows you to adjust projection data for each individual channel and immediately see the impact on Region and Consolidated variance data. This is accessed by clicking the Scenario tab which shows a canvas sectioned by region, with consolidated totals in the middle. The sliders can be manipulated to adjust the projection data for the different channels and updated the corresponding data.
